Qujiang in the Qin Dynasty boasted glimmering lakes and beautiful scenery, and Yichun palace (another regular residence for the Emperor) was built on the tableland.
Qujiang in the Han Dynasty boasted seventy-two magnificent palaces in Shanglin palatial garden, with high hills on three sides, vast lake gurgling to the north, and grass growing green and fresh. It was just like a natural picture.
Qujiang in the Sui Dynasty was renamed “Lotus Pool” because of lotus planted vastly in the lake; then it became a preferred place for the dwellers to stroll about and admire the view.
Qujiang in the Tang Dynasty, as a prosperous land of the time, witnessed passengers coming and going in great number in the spring time.
